My site is about Halo 2, and there were lots of MFA sites that I had to block (there are only a few quality ads about Halo). So now with AdSense I sometimes get ads about Halo 2, but sometimes it is about other stuff. For example - http://halo-2-glitches.com/headlong-glitches.html Some ads are about Halo, some ads are about roofing because I talk about how get on top of the roofs in Halo. If you look down at the very bottom of the page, you will see that I put a little note down there. I was hoping that would bring some Xbox/Xbox 360 ads, but it didn't. So I put the ad targetting tags around that sentence, and I put the weight=ignore part where I mention anything about "roof". I just did that today though, so it hasn't taken affect yet. Is there anything else I can do so it will display Xbox 360/other games ads?
If you only did it now it might take a while to take effect especially if it was on an older page. If you use bold on your keywords that might help you get more targeted ads but that isn't certain. Either than that the only option you have is to use the competitive ad filter on Adsense.
The ads look okay to me. Anyway, add related links to the footer of every page, with positive section targeting and bold. Use keyword-rich anchors for text, and target "Xbox", "Consoles" and "Games" (not "Halo"). It worked for me... Expect to wait a week or two before you see a change. Cryo.
Ok, I added the keywords into the meta tags, and title tag, and that worked for YPN ads to display xbox 360 stuff, so Adsense should start changing soon.
Yes, title and meta tags are important for AdSense. However, your title is very long - I'd recommend chopping it at the '|' character. Your meta description is quite short, and could do with some more keywords (not stuffed). It's very tricky to get the balance right. One the one hand you want to target "Halo Glitches" to get a good position in the search engine results; while on the other hand you want to target other (higher paying) keywords for AdSense. I'm still struggling to achieve this on my site... Cryo.
