Hey Everyone, I just Got My new Business Card and i want to put out it out there.. what is the best way i can do that?
Drop it in those fishbowls that businesses keep out for drawings and just for business cards. I think Starbuck's does it sometimes. So be on the lookout for those. Also, give them out to your friends/family, drop them off at suppliers' businesses (I run a painting company, so I would leave my cards with Sherwin Williams, for example), etc. I would also invest in shirts for your company - we have pretty cool ones that spark conversation and when that happens, I give out my business card - we also have flyers. Go to events in your industry and hand them out there. You can also join small business networking groups like LeTip or BNI (look them up online). Hope that helps!
Hi The, Business cards aren't designed to "get out there" if you want a marketing campaign you need direct mail and or post cards etc. The business card (because of its limitations is designed for contact after a meeting of some sort). However after saying that i remember reading a book once about the greatest salesman in the world. His technique with business cards was to go to football games and throw them up in the air hundreds at a time. It worked for him but not for me. I hope these points are helpful they are based on my experience and I'm sure not everyone will agree with them, if they aren't helpful discard them but thanks for allowing me to comment on your post.
Hey Daniel, Great advices...I was reading couple blogs about marketing with business card they say leave a trail of business card no matter where you go...I guess throwing business card in the air at a football game do work...
Make sure to drop them in places which fit with the niche you're trying to promote. While a sport/gambling related product would be ideal for a football game, a knitting product probably wouldn't.
This may have to depend on whom exactly your audience is and is a bit guerrilla, but why not offer a small gift for people whom show you a business card with their friend's signature on it? That way, they have to talk about your business (e.g. hey can you please sign this business card", "oh, what for...."). Of course, some people may "game" the system, but I still think its worth a try because I've never seen it done before.
