How can I get 1000 visitors a day? I'm getting around 150 people a day via search engines (not boasting). How can I get such visitors without paying? I think Iv'e pretty much done all I can do with the search engines. I've gotten on the front page for many terms but not near the top. I'm working on getting on the front page for a few competitive search terms which get 500 to 2000 people a day (depending on the time of the year). I looked that up on wordtracker.com search term finder. Right now the two terms probably together get 800 to 1000 searches a day. I have a product selling for 27 dollars so if I could get 30,000 visitors a month then 0.05 of that is 150 and thats 150 * 27 = 4050. That's a guitar course but in this economy it might be a long shot. How about stumble upon? Is that a good method? Right now I got adsense but if I get 1000 a day then probably affilitate marketing might produce more. I'd say I'd only get a dollar a day with 1000 people a day.
You can get 1000 visitors a day by offering something that 1000 people want and then optimizing the website so it appears number 1 in Google... Simple
Do you have any kind of marketing budget? PPC may be an option Articles? Social Bookmarking? These are good ways to drive that extra traffic
Provide a free course via email so you can get their email addresses, you can email them later for the same offer to increase the sales.
If you are trying to get people to buy your guitar course then take the adsense off your site as you will lose visitors to your competitors John
Keep building content to rank under more SE terms. Also, you need to get involved in social media. Twitter, Facebook, etc. I'm getting 30% of my traffic from social media.
bill0909, You are not my friend - go away! jasontn, You may want to look at some longtail keywords for your niche, and promote those. They may not bring in the amount of traffic such as "guitar lessons", but they will be easier to get to the top in serps and getting 10's or hundreds of these pages will definitely "pad the stats". One other thing I have read is that generic terms get huge traffic in search engines, but they do not particularly convert well. So targeting longtail keywords may not only help in traffic, but they may convert better. I don't play the guitar at all, but some ideas to get started would be "online base guitar lessons", "online electric guitar lessons", etc. If you play the guitar, you probably can put a nice list together. Just my 2 cents
Actually, I am quite satisfied with the traffic I'm getting so far. But as I said before it's not enough. Perhaps soon the competitve search terms will be obtainable. Maybe very soon. I get traffic from many smaller terms without having even tried much. Plus there are some ezine articles and other links which drive traffic. I think maybe forum parcipitation with a link in the signature will gain more people. I might take off adsense in the future but right now it pays for the site fees. So I think going for the long tail keywords is not the right move. It would take too much time and I could probably get the same traffic via ezine articles and social media. But I have not tried the social media thing too much only the ezine articles. I am amazed how the site is on the 2nd page of google for big search terms. It sprang up and I didn't expect it from that page (the homepage). I had another page which I hoped to score those big terms but it hit only one (on the front page). I don't think adsense gives more power to competitors. Probably if I didn't have the adsense and the people saw my affiliate stuff then they would have made their decision. If they didn't like it they would leave and go to the competitors (on another site) anyways. I have several pages optimized for long tail keywords already. I don't think I can milk the engines anymore (at least with long term keyphrases). So the forum parcipitation might be the key plus some more social media work. I believe I have a product that people like but it's the numbers. Even if one had 500 visitors coming in a day then that would be half of 4050 or around 2000 dollars a month which is fine for a single person living in the first world. That's assuming 0.05 would buy. Is that a liberal estimate? I have my affiliate link midway in the sidebar links. My adsense ad is centrally located on the page (high traffic area) The link says something about videos and of course I'm sure everybody likes videos. But with only 150 people a day I got only 1 sale last month and a few dollars for adsense. Boo hoo...
I'm putting some fresh new content for the forum and the related blog (with it's own domain name). Before I reserved it for visitors. So that should drive traffic as long as it doesn't stink. Ha Ha
If you are already on page 1, work on getting on Number 1. That is the easiest way to get targeted 1000 visitors. On the pages you are ranking (or r u only ranking in the homepage), start optimizing.. Add more content.. Also add more pages related to this keywords u already rank and link that page back to the page that is ranking already.. Also get links to these new pages, socila bookmarks will be the easy way out.. There are many guitar tab and lyrics sites that will easily sell you links.. U will do well..
Actually all links were obtained for free by asking (via email by visiting sites and collecting contact info). It only took around 3 months. The site itself is less than a year old. I'd like to get #1 but it's probably tough for a young site. Probably most people are clicking on the first 3 or 4 links for a given search term. All pages generally link to each other. A few pages are getting high rankings for many terms. The homepage is getting 2nd page ranking for big terms all over the world (on google) and 1st page for one big term in Canada. Plus it happened as a surprise. I wanted a backlink toward a secondary page but they sent it toward the homepage. I had even sent an email to one site asking them to change where they directed the link. But those backlinks pushed the homepage toward the powerful term that I thought I'd never rank for easily (even for the secondary page). I'm adding more content weekly or daily to the forum and blog (different domain name) which link to my high traffic and ranking pages. Does the new content affect the high ranking pages? Of course I'm just now adding stuff to the forum and blog. Before I kept it for visitor posts but it's tough to get anyone to post. The blog and forum do not have no PR right now and not too many visitors compared to the high traffic pages. I use a different domain name for the blog because I wanted it to be unique and I really like the name.
depends what kind of visitors. Low quality traffic is easy to get, but if you are talking about decent quality - its a task. My favorite is seo traffic, build backlinks and sooner or later you will be there
Guest blogging on popular blogs is a viable way to dramatically increase your traffic. Ask blog moderators to allow you to become a guest blogger (free of charge if need be) in exchange for a link to your website. If you write quality content, the readers will be compelled to click over to your website for more valuable information. If no blogs are willing to allow you to become a guest blogger, turn to You Tube. You mentioned that your product is a guitar course. There are tons of viewers on You Tube that visit the site just to learn a popular song on the guitar or to cross reference their existing tab. Why not post a few guitar tutorials on You Tube of popular songs and then link to your website in the description? That will surely generate some traffic. If you want to take it a step further create a squeeze page that offers free monthly guitar tabs via email? Again, link from your You Tube video descriptions to the squeeze page and don't forget to actually link to your product page from your monthly newsletters. Hope that helps, Jazmin

I'm new at blogging and one of the recommendations I read was to list your site on Zimbio. I typed the title of my post on google and I was in the 4th place, I was really surprised so I think it could be a good trafiic source. Ruben
You need a continuous ongoing seo to be performed on your website, for that you must need to hire a good seo company that provides the best in industry. Never go with individuals if you want long term success.
you can get 1000 visitors quite easily . You can post funny picture on your blog and then go to social sites like digg , redit or similar and post the picture there .
