Not actually the way to check the position of our pages. We need to check out the keywords in the search results i mean for which keywords our pages are in the first page. And Google Analytics is the best option to check the avg. position of our pages in the search engine for the keywords.

Download the free version of Rank Tracker. Then input your site and all of the keywords you think you might be ranking for. Also set up tracking software like statcounter to see the keywords people are already using to reach your site.

You can use Google Analitics or a site counter, but google analitics has the best reports for this kind of enquiry.

    Google Webmaster Tools my friend.
Your Site on the Web -> Search queries -> @the data they show, click the Avg. position, to sort by position.

    Goodluck!

Yes the average position on Webmaster tools is very effective. Rank checkers often have problems with Google but do your research.

Your answer lies right under your nose in your Google account. Google Webmaster Tools will show you every keyword you are ranking for or receiving traffic from. They recently updated it to show the best rank your keywords had impressions for, where as previously it would only show and average which was not very useful
