Maybe search for related keywords instead of just the one you are targeting on your blog?

There are lots of resources to find blog related to your niche. First thing first, Its The Big Engine GOOGLE, Google blog search, technorati, wordpress blog directory, alexa. I think these are more than enough to find blog related to any niche or based on a specific keyword.

You can check your competitor with use a SEO tools, such as m*rk*t samurai, etc. But, there is a one way to check your competitor:
using google, do it manually.. research from google keyword planner then search competition on google search..
type your keyword on google search: "your keyword".
After that, in your browser add: &start=990

if iam wrong please correct me..
