How can I filter my content as Ebay does?

    Hi,

I am looking a way to filter my content just like ebay.com does when searching for a product. You start checking boxes based on your preferences and the list of products becomes smaller and smaller.

I have not created the website yet. And I plan to use Wordpress or Joomla.

So all posts would be tagged based on their characteristics so that people can search and narrow down their search using filters, just as ebay does on its left sidebar.

How do I do that? Is there a plugin or a template that gives me that feature within Wordpress or Joomla?

    Thanks to all

Haven't you bothered to even search Google? I did, with the search term, "search term wordpress". There are a potload of returns, the first return appearing to meet your requirements.

Expect us to help you; not do your work for you.

    1. You can use "wp content filter" for your wordpress site so the visitors can easily find their query.
    2. Or you can use "content filter" extension for your joomle site.

I do have searched on google, otherwise I wouldn't have posted here. I guess I couldn't figure out the right search string since english is not my primary language. Any how, I could not find a solution.
I guess you wanted to help, despite your despective answer, so thanks any way.

My answer is especially constructive. I gave you a query phrase and even linked to Google's response to that query. Did you follow the link? Did it provide a solution? If it doesn't answer the question, in what way do those sites fail? If you didn't use the link, well sca-rew you.

If you want us to answer you without hurting your tender feelings, you should explain what efforts you have expended in your own interests. Your post said, in effect, "I want this, give it to me; I can't be bothered to find my own answer."

If you really want to be the kind of forum member that the knowledgeable folk want to help, you should read and apply Eric Raymond's How to Ask Questions the Smart Way. Or, you can remain as you are and receive the shared ignorance of the less knowledgeable.
