my family that is on the Internet not lot needs to know what does one get when a person pays for a directory? Can anyone out there please help me? I typically pay for featured links on my websites. Can anyone please help me explain what a person gets when they pay for their website,blog etc in directories? In simple terms please if possible.Thanks!!
only a few popular web directories like yahoo that you can get traffic from, most of webmasters buy links at directory for a higher google pr only.
Think of a directory as you would a local newspaper ( or any other medium ), you wish to promote your new business so you place an ad in the paper, or in this case an ad on the internets highway. This ad is then read by visitors, search engines etc and provides an online exposure in much the same way as the paper would for your business. If people do not know you exist or others are promoting heavy, there is no reason for you to stand out from the crowd, so your site turns into a ghost town. Advertising / promotion is important to any business / venture.
