For my blog, I want to quote part of an article that I read on a newspaper website. Is there a proper way to do this? is it legal? and do i have to ask permission each time i quote from another source..or do I just do it? anyone of any samples of blogs that are doing this? it might help me add more content to my blog?
You can quote a sentenance paragraph stating clearly the publisher e.g. Reuters and the URL e.g. reuters.com As long as you don't copy and paste the whole article you will be fine.
Yes I agree that if you cite the source you should be fine. But this is on a per source basis, and even though most places won't mind if they're cited, it doesn't mean you're free to do so for all.. But you can probably cite whatever you want w/o ever running into this problem.
Why don't you ask permission from them to republish parts of the article? I guess nobody will be in trouble if you and the source will agree to draw the line.
If you also link back to that new s paper mentioning that source is that then I don't think you'll have any problem.
it is better to give backlink to there site after article few sites have protected content in such case u will face probs.
