Hi everyone , I want that a characters looks smooth like in Photoshop. how can i do it on CSS? Many thanks
Thank you very much XTreMe i think that when we use the Smoothing, the contours of the text are integrated into the background.but i don't know haow do it with css
If you are talking about some text sitting in a transparent gif, then you want to make a matte background so the letters seem to fade into the background. But that might not be what you mean.
If I understand you correctly you can't do it with text. The problem is in IE's font parsing engine. Text has the jaggies in IE and that's that. If you want smooth text all the time, get a Mac.
Doesn't Winblows have some sort of smoothing thing too?? Or am I thinking of versions of ClearType? My Safari for 'Blows definitely shows a difference in smoothness, though. Verdana just looks like crap on other browsers on the Windows (while looking okay on the Linux machine).
Thank you friends for you responses you can see what i'm talking about in the following image the characters with(right) and without(left) a smoothness: boostupload.com/files/image_057_smoothness.jpg
I'm sorry but I still don't think anyone here knows what it is you are trying to achieve. The image that you provided does indeed show the difference with smoothing: But are you looking for fonts on your website to have smooth edges? If so (and assuming that they are being used on graphical backgrounds, or headers) why don't you create them with Photoshop (or similar) and then save them (optimized) for your website. Just to clarify the point you cannot do this with CSS. CW
That's definitely not a web font. Looks a lot like Garamond to me. A great classic font, beautiful and stylish. The differences you show are in the anti-aliasing settings in Photoshop. There's a little drop-down menu where you select the values when using the text tool. Different fonts look their best with different settings, so you have to play with it a bit to hit the sweet spot.
