Choose keyword which low competition and high search.
Choose keyword in 2 word not long tail, long tail keyword have less competition and also very low search.

Wow. That is pretty detailed. I appreciate the information.

So am I correct in understanding that a short-term campaign is a low competition keyword, while a long-term campaign is a high competition keyword?

    Hi,

First of all you have to write your own keywords that come up to mind and then you can compare these keywords with the help of keyword researching tool like adwords.

In case you are not getting some good ideas from the keywords tools. Try to search for good keywords manually, because sometimes the results shown by the tools are not 100% correct. If you have some paid tools like Spy Fu etc then you can rely on them completely. One more thing you can try to target keyword with high competition, sometimes it's not that hard to get them going, surely it will take some time !!

The best way which i always follow for keyword research is, always choose not so hot not so cold keywords.
