hi to all plz tell me how can i differentiate between the query of ppc and organic. i have placed conversion code on thanks pages of my websites. mine site have heavy traffic but we also running successfully ppc campaign. jhow can i differentiate the people who came to our site fill the query. what is the best way to know this ?
The best way to differentiate is to split the traffic streams onto different landing pages and have your goal tracking software track each separately. This will ensure that you aren't mxing organic and ppc in your goal formula. (Unless your ppc campaign is appending click ids to the end of your urls - but not all platforms do that).
dear gostats cud u tell me if the user come from ppc campaign and then inspite of filling queries at the landing page he changes his mind and fill query in some other page which suits his need most, then in that scenario what will happen ? does the trcker take it as ppc or organic ??
The path origin for that user should be set for your landing page - in that case you should have your affiliate tracking script set a cookie for the visitor at that point. This visitor will be considered ppc. But under normal circumstances, your visitor should most often follow the natural goal on your landing page.
Dear gostat!!! things are not clear to me. i need to differentate between ppc quey and organic query. as conversion code is used on thanks page, how can one say that this is from ppc and this is from organic. i want clear distinction between query of PPC and organic. what code shoud we use. is it possible to track timing of filling query using analytics or some free software so that if ppc click time is out we can differentiate it from organic query. plz suggest.. moreover i didn't understand ur sentence like --your affiliate tracking script set a cookie for the visitor at that point. cud u clarify it..
Hello gajendra.gets, If you are using a single tracking code on the thank you page it will not properly track your conversions from both traffic streams. If you would like the more effective option, you should use a secondary tracking system to track them. A smarter tracking system will track conversion rate of both ppc and organic traffic separately. If you just a single tracking code, it will not work to seperate them. -Writting cookies to determine the origin is usually the best way to send the referrer infromation to the final tracking code.
