How can I Develop my blog?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by muthukswamy, Jul 6, 2007.

    I created my first site/blog last year(dec 2006) but I didn't do much with it. Currently I made some drastic changes to my blog and improved its quality a little bit. But still I can't feel a power in my blog.

    I need suggestions to improve my blog.

    Thank you all in advance.:)

    The site is nice but personally I would use some custom template, something more original to attract the eye ;)

    Just survey your readers. Ask them what they like and what they would like you to include in your blog.

    The blog looks fine, but if it's not inspiring you, take a moment to think about your mission for it.

    * Who's it aimed at? "Online updates" isn't too clear. The "make money" space is crowded, but that doesn't mean you can't compete. Self development might work as a niche too. Decide on a niche, and use that in your blurb/ sub-head for the blog;

    * Once you've decided on a clear niche, make sure all your posts relate to people looking for information in that niche. it's hard to write when you're not clearly focused in an area, and hard to get subscribers.

    I wish you much success. :)

    My advice? Start off as if you are making a site from scratch.

    What would you do?
    Who would you target?
    What content would they like?
    Where to get backlinks from?
    Whats my budget?

    Questions like this will help you get a better focus on what you need to do to improve your blog.

    You'll find some useful information in this thread:
