flv is an output format, u don't love it it's mostly used to get the video from sites such as youtube. just download.com has alot of stuff like that already.. u can get them free
If you use something like WordPress, there are several open source players you can use to add player functionality to your site. If you're just looking to convert your files to flv, nandalinnaung is right, there are many free ones out there. easydolla mentioned Camtasia, and that product is worth's it's price 3 times over, imo.
