I am looking for your professional advise please. I have been running an adwords campaign for the last month or so for this site www.onlinebingoclub.co.uk. My convertion rate seems to be 22% on people who sign-up for the newsletter (join the club), but would like to increase this if possible. This is the add I am running: Free Online Bingo Club Get the latest Online Bingo News, Offers & Promotions by email. www.onlinebingoclub.co.uk I have been forever switching and playing with keywords but there seems no logic on which is the best converting as they all do in there own way. So maybe its the add itself, I have tried 5-6 different worded adds and seem to all have around the same effect but this one just edging it. Maybe its the landing page? How would you change it to convert more sign-ups?
If I were the owner of an online business like yours I would have to accept the fact that a 22% visitor-to-subscriber conversion is a decent rate that I would be happy with. Regarding the add text you quoted, is that taken from Google paid ads? If so, then it reads well to me. What I'd do aside from Google is register my site on all online gaming directories and forums I could possibly find. Those places will be likely to drive the right traffic to your site unlike Google that is open to everyone..
maybe people don't want to get spam or something. The site doesn't reassure them that their address won't be sold or that they will not receive spam as a result of signing up. Maybe telling them that they can unsubscribe at any time would also help.
Even though the word Bingo is banned like all gambling sites are from Google adwords, the prices are still high to get on the front page, it costs me over $1 for front page, top 3 is $3. I cant pay $5+ per lead as it sometimes works out to be now. The spam thing I do explain in the FAQ page, maybe I need to look into adding that to the landing page. I am trying to get some links from related sites but its a tough business and high competition.
You're asking too much of the visitor. You want them to come to your site and sign up. Most people aren't going to go to the FAQ to find out about spam. Make it as easy for them as possible and put it right on the landing page near the signup box. Always assume laziness on the part of the user. I know I'm pretty lazy so why expect anything more of the general visitor?
Have you checked out your competition to see what results they are getting and to see what methods they are using???
People want to know the benefits more than features. If you can explain each feature you have listed in those bullets at the top, that will boost conversion. Those features are fine, but give benefits why each feature should make them want to join. Also in the subscription box, make the call to action in red text. Red inspires action. And test your changes against the page that is getting you 22%. Rotate them. Right now 22% is your control, so you must beat that. Hope this helps Jason
I agree - I rhink 22% is a decent rate. thumb rule - the more you u advertise, more links u get, then this 22% will look better to you.
Your landing page isn't attention grabbing. There's no obvious header or strong call to action. Have you tried rotating different landing pages to test conversion ratios?
If you are sending your traffic to the URL you have listed in your post I am absolutely thrilled that you have a 22% conversion rate! Part of the reason I say that is one of the first benefits you throw out there is: "Do you want the best offers & promotions available on the internet?" This sounds like you are going to be sending me advertisements! Not exactly what I would be looking to sign-up for if I was visiting your site. But obviously 22% of your visitors think otherwise. But, if that conversion rate isn't good enough for you I would create a "lighter" landing page with only great benefits: - Receive 25 in Free Bingo Cash To Sign-up - Insiders access to the latest bingo site reviews... etc.,etc. Tell them you are not going to spam them to death and then give them the sub form. Good Luck!
I agree with Troy. Also Below the Online Bingo Club the Links are invisable until you mouseover except the home one. I would make it so you can see those links too.
Thanks guys for all your help, have changed some things now that has been reconmended! Sorry but what links do you mean? the nav bar under the logo?
May want to try a free-bee to get more intrest..and "track all" of your vistiors moves and come up with a TOTAL conversion for your proccess. BTW..22% is way to high for something that is paid for on the web..that why I would look at a OVERALL number to rate the entire procces..vs the good in one area (I mean that in a good way). Just seems if that was the case U can send any targeted traffic to ya and you convert 22% you like gold compare to a lot of others. Just my take ..good luck :0)
The 22% is only from campaign hits from Google, which are very targeted and costing me a fortune! People would have to read my add on google that says free newsletter, had already searched for Bingo so must be interested when clicking. So say I pay $1 per click on goodle adwords, 22% is costing me nearly $5 per email address, I need to reduce this, so either reduce my PPC amount or convert more.
Places like www.trafficswarm.com ,reputedly is not the best place to sell your offers or affilate programs (although some do well). The reason why I bring it up is that I've heard that it's a good place for building lists; If you offer a freebie and post the squeeze page on traffic swarm, you should get some measure of opt ins. You can sign up and use the service for free. You then make their site your homepage and every once in a while as you search, you click on one of their offers and youre taken to a landing/squeeze page. While this sounds kind of boring, there are literally thousands doing it at the same time. Many are newbies and if you offer a nice freebie, many might opt in.
You could try to ask your members to invite some friends to join your site. And you could also organise an invitation contest.
