I'm trying to take down a site that's number one for a keyword and I want to know how likely and possible it'll be, how can I do that?

    Code (markup):

Google works, but also try checking Yahoo! Site Explorer. It takes a few hours to get everything set up once your register and confirm the site is yours, but it gives you detailed reports about specifically which URL's are giving you direct linkbacks, what the text says, how many inbound/outbound links you have, etc. It really is the best Link Checking service (and made by Yahoo! who knew?!)

Have you tried the following site:
From this site, you can see the number of backlinks as well as the PR, Even there are options to see type (NOFOLLOW/DOFOLLOW) etc too.

Apart from this, You can use backlinkwatch.com too, that gives you number of links as well as type (NOFOLLOW OR DOFOLLOW) & outbound links details too.

I agree with all of the other comments -- Yahoo is much more accurate than Google

Try siteexplorer from Yahoo. It seems to be the fastest updating, and I have never noticed where it does not show one of my backlinks.
