You can create a sitemap xml and submit it in the google. Submit your website in social bookmarking site. This will help to cache your website faster.

Make sure your site is updated regularly with fresh content which is of a high quality and which is related to your topic/industry. I'd recommend once every 2 weeks, something like that if you have the time.

I agree... social bookmarks and pinging your site usually works pretty quick. Wouldn't hurt to also do a few RSS submissions, as well.
