I already have my blog set up and in about 1.5 months, has had 2.1 thousand unique views. I consider that good traffic in a short period of time. So I figured, I could branch myself out and try starting a forum. The forum in on my domain and is an extension to my blog. The only question is, what can I do to build traffic to my newly created forum? (other than a logo because I'm aware I need that) Thanks, Andy.
attach some links in related facebook groups, writing a good quality article about your niche and linking back to your forum link in ezinearticles.com. Build some backlinks for that article in ezinearticle, you'll be amazed that your article will rank pretty high because of high PR of ezine. Do the same thing for hubpage.com and squidoo.com. start posting in your forum under different account trying to emulate discussion, hopefully it will attract real users or pay someone to post in your forum

Nice tips I am also going to use them. One thing that should help is to post into forums that have similar topic to your forum.
Promote it in other forums as well. But don't be too blatant, because some other forums won't allow you to promote other forums. Just put it in your sig link. Try to make at least 10 posts a day in 5 different forums in your niche. You can also do blog commenting. The traffic you will be getting with blog commenting are targeted. If you're already part of the blogging community, you can also do guest blogging. Contact at least 10 blog owners in your niche and ask them if you can write a guest post. 1-2 will usually say yes. Make sure to write a valuable post. Do it at least 1-2 times a week, and you will soon have a steady flow of traffic to your site. Those are free methods. But you can also go to the paid route to fasten the process.
