How can I boost sales for my Business?

Discussion in 'General Marketing' started by Gavenecko, Nov 17, 2009.

I own a business where I sell things that I make. I started off with selling through etsy, but then moved onto my own domain name. Since doing so my sales have dwindled but traffic has boosted. It's depressing knowing that I have people viewing my stuff but they aren't buying. Should I switch by to using etsy, or should I be patient? If so, what are good (HONEST) ways to boost sales without being pushy?

Try both Etsy and your own website to maximize profit.

Tough to provide a viable answer without a link ;)

Happy to take a look though,

A good start would be knowing what your conversion rate is. How many visitors and sales do you get on average?

I think the reason could be that people don't find ur site trustworthy. maybe u need to improve ur design, add some of those badges that show that ur a reliable seller etc. Accept more payment methods if u aren't already. (and keep doing the general marketing)

People may not feel secure to shop on your site. You need some good reviews posts about your site and also put some secure seals on Your site, It will help to build trust.

What is it that you are making? And how does that benefit the buyer? If they are buying it from this other site, what is the reason for it? Other words, trust issue, traffic volume, etc. Too many variable to make a specific desicion.

This Chris Stigson gentleman, asks some great questions!

How does your product/service deliver specific, unique benefits
to a specific group of people in a way no other provider on the
market can claim to do it currently?

Answer that question and you have your product's "reason for being."

It won't take esp to know you need your u.s.p. to boost sales!
Otherwise your business is just a u.f.o.

U.S.P. isn't the shippers in the brown trucks.

    It's your unique selling proposition!

Now you have it...run with it like the wind!

If you can afford it look into PPC. You might be able to get some decent traffic for cheap if you research your keywords thoroughly.

    first question is...
are the people visiting your site...your target people?
when getting some traffic and sale(s) for that matter...you have to target the right people...
put a little more effort building traffic the right way...the right keywords...
and don't just buy traffic from some whacko...

Like what the other one mentioned you can try using etsy at the same time selling on your own site, if you can't generate lots of sales with your site, people might have not yet trusted your site, issues such as security for their accounts, product information, website content etc. To convert traffic into sales you must first know their demands and what keeps them coming, also try to put up a blog in your site and make reviews and information like new releases which is not biased on your products. Add testimonials as well from your past buyers, this will increase your reputation towards consumers. These are just a few tips and there are a lot more other people might suggest.

Hi Gavenecko! I hope all is well with you! Are you directing traffic to a sales page or are you building a high

quality email list? If not, that is the course of action I recommend pursuing. Build a relationship with your email

list and monitor who opens your emails and pitch your sales to the active subscribers to have a higher quality of

targeted income. This should boost your sales a bunch.:)

    Kind regards

    Hello Gavenecko!

You may need to work on a way to pull targeted customers to your website. You should consider using a Press Release, there's a good ebook that I have found useful on Amazon: How To Become A Press Release Expert in 24 Hours. I hope it helps you on your endeavor.;)
