I mean in my country spamming is legal. Since I abide by laws, I don't want to send e-mails to citizens of other countries where such e-mail is illegal. There are plenty of people selling millions of e-mail ids for as low as $40. Now when I send mails I just don't want to send to people in whose countries spam is illegal? Note: Please avoid moralistic rant
Your not realistically going to be able to tell..... most personal email accounts are with the likes of gmail or hotmail so country non-specific. If they captured the IP of the person at the time of registration you could work out where they registered from but there would be a small number who's apparent country at point of registration may not be their home country and I'd be suprised if such data lists contained the IPs
But if I specify unsubscribe link in my e-mail will it then become legal in US under spam law? Eventhough it'll be an unsolicited e-mail.
Under UK law you would need to also ensure that all of the names were double opt in (ie they actively agreed to both marketing email and 3rd party contact - and it must be active, it cannot be passive - you cannot have a "untick the box" or something hiden in the T&Cs) as well as having the unsubscribe link etc.
It'd be interesting to know the laws of other countries too. For example US, Canada, France, China etc.
