How can I add sub-categories to my WP blog. I dont know programming.

    I just downloaded wordpress 2.3.2 and I want to add subcategories to my wordpress blog but I don't know how to add them. Is there any tool/plugin for that? I dont know programming so I cant modify my sidebar.php file..please help
