How can I add same text on many photos at once?

I need to add the same text to over 800 photographs. It is taking longer than I like to do this. I'm using PhotoShop CS2, but I also have access to Illustrator, Quark, InDesign, and Fireworks if need be. I would like to know if there is a way to add the text to all the photos at one time? If it is possible, what do I need to accomplish this, and what is the procedure?

Just create the action in Photoshop, As much as i know this is the best technique to put water mark or any other effect on numbers of photos in a short period.
