Just take the embed code an place it in a text box in your widgets. Make sure that you adjust the dimensions so that it will fit properly . Example: If your sidebar is 300x250 (for instance), you will need to change the width and height of the player to fit. You don't need any special plug in, or script and I have no idea what the other guy is talking about...the video embed code is a natural link back to You Tube..when people click the video twice, it takes them to the original page that it is posted on.

Oh. Maybe he is..if that's the case, you can't do it. It's a violation of T.O.S., besides, You Tube is hosting the video, if you remove the link, the video won't play anyway....the link IS the video.
I'm sorry but what's so bad about violating YouTube TOS? Terms of Service isn't a law is it? It's just that I figured out how to do this but just wonder about this grey area
Nothing. Go for it. Just take it upon your self to use other people's property without having to feel like you should abide and respect the rules that they have set forth. After all, who does You Tube think they are ? So what if they sue you and shut down your website..at least you will be comfortable with the knowledge that you stood your ground and and did it your way and that you didn't let someone else tell you how to run your website, using their stuff. Anyway, if it's on the web, it must be up for grabs, right ? Who's gonna know if you steal content here and there to use for your own projects? I say go for it and ignore all those pesky little Legal Statements that you see everywhere...after all , those are just for show. Google doesn't care about little ole' you..do they?
