How can I add a video to a blog post?

Hi guys, wanted to know how i can add a video to a new blog post such that it can play on the post itself. The video is hosted on my own site.

Please advise me

 

You need a plugin for that like this http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/flv-embed/ . The video must be converted to flvs and there are a lot free flv converter out there.

Step 1: Upload the video to your server.
Step 2: Get this WP plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/flv-embed/
Step 3: Embed the video onto your post.

And how to embedd YouTube video? Regular way as if you would do it on non-wordpress site or do you need a plugin?

 

Why don't you upload the video to youtube and put a link in the description back to your site. From there just embed the video from you tube. It will save you bandwitdh and will help you with SEO.

 

Two kills with one stroke! So, embedded video is not using your bandwidth, but YouTubes. Also hosting space. I never thought about it that way... Thanks!
