Hopefully somebody here can help me. A friend of mine and I run a technology website/forum. It has gotten quite big in the short time it is online and we are starting to get products from companies to review.

As of now, all we have is a forum. Our homepage simply shows the latest posts, as well as the daily news we select. What would be the best way to make a review section (and real homepage), while keeping the same template from the forum??

    Thanks for your help!!

I'll give Joomla a look. It seems like it could get the job done.

    Any other suggestions?

What are you using to power your forums? Most forums allow you to make themes for them which means you can totally re-design the whole site but still be able to draw from the database to fill it with content.

I have modified wordpress to display the front page a lot different than it normally would be. First of all it it gets all the categories, then gets the latest post of that category and displays it inside it's own divs. It also gets the first picture out of the post if it exist, resizes it and displays this in the divs also, check out these screenshots to see what i mean.

I could probably make you a theme and make it behave in a very custom manor specific to your needs, atm i'm helping people out for free to try and network a bit. Give me a pm and let me know what other features you may require.

Adding in cutom pages is not all that hard, check this tuorial out

It seems that you might find it easiest to hire a web site design firm.
