How can i achieve this effect without using Flash at all?

This is my portfolio site, and I'm planning on redoing the scrolling images section without Flash (mzybe javascript, html5...). I do however want to keep the same exact look and funcionality.

I would look into using HTML5 or JQuery. There should be some tutorials if you do a quick search on Google on how to achieve this effect.
