How can Google be overtaken

I agree, their customer support is pretty terrible.

Especially for services that don't get any money from.

Yahoo's customer support is good and nice.

 

When you have a company at the size of google, you may not be able to even offer support

 

Hmmm... well you have to think, google don't have a monopoly, and if they slip up, they could easily lose first place... right now though, the only chance other search engines would have, would be if google got hacked silly, and was down for a long enough period for it to get overtaken

 

Google cant be overtaken, Though a more web 2.0 site would be preferred ..

 

There is ONE way you can take google down! Make a search engine which gives better results, is hard to be ranked good (so that webmasters struggle to be ranked) and ranks by checking many things about a website. And you need loads of money for promotion so that people will come to know abt ur search engine

 

Any company can fall. Just like any person can die, but the question is what are the odds of it actually happening?

 

The trend and current progress that they are making doesn't point to that direction or suggest they are about to be overtaken. With the emergence of android, it shows how committed they are to get a full grip on the search engine market. Anyway, who is going to overtake them?

 

You can overtake Google if you can develop something better than Google. Is it possible? Yes. Is it doable? You'll never know. It takes a lot of resources, both financial and technical, to make that possible.

 

google can be beaten by someone with a search engine which has more relevant results

 

Google's only number 1 in North America and the UK look at Baidu in China and Yandex in Russia Google Has so much money but can't overthrow these Companies in those regions

 

I remember when some folks thought Wisenut might overtake google. then when msn released their new engine they said the same thing. And some people said Gigablas might one day do that. I think the only way is via big mergers, like MSN Search merges with Yahoo, for example and then buys ask.com etc.

 

Google.tl.my is tone better than google.com

 

May be keep thinking about it, and you will win it in your Dreams.
In reality its alsmost Next to impossible. Many came and gone to give the competition.
But Google stays ahead.

 

I think the reason Google stays ahead, is because people just try to do everything google has done. Rather than that, why not come up with something unique? Make a search engine that delivers a pizza to you while youre searching.. i'd use that..

 

All you need to do is get google and make its key features better....

Copy PR..make it more accurate, enhance features, etc.
Copy adsense, allow ALL websites, enable Paypal payments
Copy adwords, charge less
Copy search, get rid of those sites like fullreleases from the results where you pay $4 for a lifetime of downloads
Put in a video search feature

There are just some of the features. Just copy and enhance

 

The windows live search has shown promises I am sure it will soon be the next competitor the image search is really impressive some advertising will soon bring live search up we need some toolbars for it some marketing will do the job

 

I google is the best search engine.

 

Google can never be overtaken unless some magic happens. There's just no way, there the market leaders. Without them we would not have these computers!
