Hi friends, I saw alot of websites about ware, ebook download, movie download... They have alexa about 2000. I think these sites need dedicated server that cost hundreds per month. However, they do not go with adsense. My question is that how can the owners earn money and is it worth to spend time and energy to develop this kind of websites. Thanks!
Well if they put adsense on sites like download free movies or ebooks ( as its not legal) , they will be banned pretty soon i guess, because its against their TOS.

Those types of websites, get a LOT of traffic from Google serps, and they usually sell links, and banner ads.

Adsense isn't everything I know many people who make much more out of affiliate programs than they would ever do out of AdSense. Some people even create a site to promote one specific product
If a site gets a lot of highly targeted traffic, it can make way more money selling its own products or affiliate products than it can with Adsense clicks that only make a few cents each. Some sites don't make money directly, but are used for list building for future selling. And, some sites are not intended to make money, for whatever reason their owners may have for offering free information.
