If you make a new page and added your page to your sitemap (xml) then resubmit again to google map.

Another way is to generate backlinks to your new content by:

    1. Highlight them on your home page (usually your most spidered page).

    2. If you have a blog with you site - blog about the new content.

    3. Pay for a link to the new content on a high PR (6+) site.

These techniques will get your new content pages spidered quickly, and should get them indexed quickly (although when they are actually added to the index is up to the individual search engines.)

Make a link about it on craigslist, or usfreeads, they get spidered quickly. Also make a Squidoo Lens about it, those are spidered very often as well. The sooner the SE's know about the new site, the faster it'll get indexed.

submit your sitemap to SE especially to google, I don’t know if this will help but try to remove the revisit tags on you site

The two best options I think are the XML sitemap submitted to both Google and Yahoo as well as at least one high level PR link pointing to your site.

They are not a waste of time. Google has implied on their posts that sitemaps can be helpful.

Yes, I will agree with this point. I would remove every revisit-after tags.

If you have a feed you can ping them which works pretty well.
Otherwise if you have some good backlinks pointing to your site Google will crawl new content and may index it.

New content will be automatically updated in search engines everytime they get bots to crawl your website. No need to worry much.

You are right jjoshua, SE automatically update their databases...

However, the real concern here is that they don't do so
    often enough.

There are ways of making them update faster (luckily :D )

just add a link to your homepage, the spider visits the website often, but it will add it to index only if there is new content.

You provided alot of old outdated info. Pinging does not get you indexed faster however pinging blog directories can get you some links. Also pinging can get you in trouble.
Google updates fine if you have a good reason for them too.
