    Blog never helps you to increase traffic,it act like as other websites. You should make your blog more popular by writing Good content , publish well, and try to add Keywords in blog posts. It may help your blog to index in Search engine easily. Do SEO in your Blog.Email your friends about your Blog . Replay to comment you received in your Blog. Add email subscription box that may lead to get you a good readers.

    blogs generally get indexed quickly and ranked easily,
    Blogs are usually your communication channel... with the outside world..

    people can see your latest posts and know whats latest at your end...

    In google search people are searching for information and blogs are good way of providing information and you can drive traffic to your sales website.

Then you can start a blog that talks about e books, the popular e books, e book reading devices and so on. Write information that is useful for those who always move around with a Kindle in their hands. Occassionally talk about your site i your blog posts. Since you write something interesting and helpful your raeders will believ that your site is good to buy e books. The secret is to build trust and trasfer that trust to your site from the blog.
