    I have like 500 categories/subcategories. But only on 80% I have listings...this is because I add categories add the time.

    :D Looks like you ARE having a difficult time...let me try and see if I got it right after all. You are asking how many directories are listed in the Directories subcategory in our (general) directories...

    Basically you're asking:

    YourDirectory>Internet>Resources>Searching>Directories> All subcategories included = How many listings?

    The category structure noted above obviously will vary from one directory to another...

    Earlier this year i thinned down the subcategories on each of the directories.

    Because of there being too many subcats of just one listing, some subcats that would most likely never be used and there probably being nearly as many subcats as there were total listings.

    Spreading too thinly seems not such a good idea and having a page with more or less nothing on it makes little sense.

    Nah (but thank you for the offer), I was curious and doing a little personal research. Was just thinking of a couple of topics for a blog post, nothing important enough for that.
