my site is been live for about 5-6 months now. I have gotten some good link backs so far. I have a PR 7 page linking to me from their home page, a pr 6, plenty of pr 5's. I also limit from linkin gto any pages below a pr 3, but i do have a few. I am a pr 0 right now. So, How big is a pr 7 page linking to my pr 0 site going to help my PR upon the next update? I am not paying for any links too. I really want a pr soon that i can see so it can validate all the work i have done.
For most things PR won't make any difference but it is still nice to see. How much you benefit (PR wise) from any depends on how many other OBLs there is on the page, the less outbound links the more PR is passed to each
on the pr 7 homepage, there are only like 6 OBL, all the others look like subdomains of his domain. I'm thinking this could help alot
Have a look at this... http://www.compar.com/infopool/articles/PR-calculation.html I've no idea how accurate this is (I guess only Google do), but it'll give you a guide anyhow.
I have had sites that I did large link building on to get PR3, others which have sat for a year with limited links get a PR4. No clue how to judge it.
Just keep in mind, outbound links are outbound links. Whether they go to different domains or the same domain doesn't have any difference in the calculations.
i guess next update you should be atleast a 5 just a guess... if I was in your shoes that is what I would figure anyway (shrug)

Pr is tricky. I have a pr 4/10 site that I've been working hard on and it still didn't get to a pr 5/10 this past update. I think being linked to a pr 7 will greatly increase your pr and probably bring it up to a 4 or 5. As far as pr goes, it is important as far as perception. People like ranking systems, and people respect high pr sites more than low pr sites. Tesla
do you think average customers have a clue about all this pr thing? the PR shown in the toolbar is still a good measure of how well you are doing in your site seo. This is my first attempt in seo, let's see how it goes (so far excellent results in msn, very average in google and still waiting the god damn slurp to index my pages)
