How bad is the US economy now?

I'm not living in the US, some who live in the US please tell me how bad is the US economy right now, thanks

 

very bad ... for most people ..

now it's all depending on the person ... most Americans as some Europeans begun to live on credits..., for them if they loose their job.... you know... they will have extra expenses... maybe banks put an hold on their money...

by the way ... smart ones withdraw all their $ from their card if they loose their job...

 

I've been doing this for years ( feel safer ) ..

 

My business greatly depends on the US market

 

Not bad at all...for the people who are getting bailout monies to forgive mortgages they couldn't afford, car loans they defaulted on, and credit cards they didn't pay.

The rest of us poor suckers who have always tried to live within our means and buy only what we had the money for are up a creek without a paddle.

 

here in my country (guatemala) things sucks eerything has high prices and a lot of bussiness are broken.

 

I've noticed nothing different. My web business is about the same as last year and my restaurant business is up 10%. I still can't find enough employees so, from my view, this downturn is a myth.

What's strange is to hear those from other countries talking of how bad things are here. Yes, I know the news talks of big layoffs and big companies, and I think I see some little dinky mom/pop shops close, but I don't know anyone that's been touched by this.

 

my advice is don't move to the US

 

Things are not getting better as I see.

 

Just listen to Jay Leno every night. He tells you.

 

US is going to too down within next 6 months. at 50% of now. This is my personal opinion.

 

America is fine and will be just fine.

The media is playing with your fears.

 

Every countries effect by this economy downturn, Some third countries are doing worst thing the G6 countries..So it's everywhere you can go.

 

Ha that's something to laugh at. US ain't going nowhere my friend. We been to many difficult situations before and came out of them.

 

For some people it is really bad, but I haven't really been affected by it myself. Some of my friends here in the US and in other countries have been affected by the downward economy though. I also think that it is just a natural cycle. All economies have up times and down times.

 

I'm going to have a bumper sticker made up.
"The economy may be down but we're ahead of you."

 

Most people are greatly effected although my stocks have taken a beating ..I am one of the lucky ones

 

Well, many people are effected due to us economy crisis but not my country
