Well the first quarter of 2009 has passed, and I thought I'd check in with fellow DP users on how they're doing. Are you up this year, lower than expected? Google's attempt at cost cutting has been to take a larger commission for itself, and pad itself from the recession - it posted higher than expected profits as a result of numerous cost cutting and profit attempts (including adding ads to image search, cutting services, and yes increasing the commission taken on ad sales). With all this, Google has also taken to revealing a new ads by interest (behavioral targetting) feature which is a privacy nightmare but may help increase certain sites ctr. I went up quite a bit , but seemed now to have dropped back down yesterday (sunday) unfortunately. But so far for me 2009 started a bit badly, but then took off, but seems to have calmed once again admist recession scares. How are you doing?
I really can't see any change, my earnings are still linked to my traffic, the variations are up and down, but no clear sign of recession yet.
Hi, I was just searching on this subject and I came across a blog post that really raised some concerns. beep.name/2009/03/07/are-adsense-publishers-revenues-on-a-slippery-slope-or-what/ Is any of that post true??? I just couldn't believe some of it... 1 minute landing time required to count click as true??? WTF... That would explain why AdSense is so down for me...unbelievable....
i got the lowest pay per click in the past quarter, i got the highest earnings a day in the past quarter, so what should i say? more content, more backlinks, more traffic, and more $$.
For me, this year started with the lowest money I made so far with adsense. Instead of getting better, things got worst. I have seen my eCPM drop almost 50% this year
Im effected very much with this recession. HOpe everything gets back ok soon, traffic has been increased but earning down to 30- 40%.
