How are prices generated when selling links?

Well i really hope this is the right forum, if not please move this thread Mods.

So, my problem is, i dont really know how to set prices to sell links on my site

Right now i take 3$/week for a sitewide sidebar link

    These are my site stats:

    - Anime Topsite
    - Pr 4
    - Unique pageviews daily: 400-500 a day
Not that many visits, but well i really have a high clickthrough rate
    - from these Unique views the list produces around 500+ daily visits to the listed sites / links i have on my topsite.

Is 3$ maybe to less for pr4 and high CTR??
Need some advice please on my matter and generally pricing for selling links

    Thanks,
    Basti

To decide whether a link is good value when I'm buying, I would look at the number of outgoing links (the less there are the more valuable a link is), and if you link out to unrelated (if you link to casinos/weight loss etc your links are worth way less).

Without knowing those its hard to say, but $3/week sounds okay I guess, with maybe cheaper per year ($100?)

Thanks for your reply Vic, that is useful info for me.
As i have many outgoing links ( but all related ) the value is pretty ok i guess, like you said.
Bulk price seems to be a good idea too

Maybe i start to raise if i reach pr5

    Thanks,
    Seb

Watch out if you are selling dofollow links. Google will penalise yours and the buyer's site if they find out, or if someone reports it to them. More info here.

Ahja, Do you have any proof other then just writing something like "this says google" ??? ( Sorry if it isnt your blog post ), would love to see that exact text somewhere on google, until that happens i wont believe it.

I Simply cant imagine google saying "If you know of a site that buys or sells links, please tell us by filling out this form." -.-
They would so badly be spammed of jealous Webmasters, trying to destroy their competition

Exactly. It's just not a good idea to sell links on your site, unless you are selling actual advertising there and you are using the NoFollow attribute.

That makes a pretty big assumption that google will find out. As long as you are not a total idiot or get greedy about it you can pull of selling dofollow links. Not saying I approve of it, but it can be done safely.

Thanks for that headsup. I was nearly considering to use paid links with one of my domains.

Well on Google they say not a single word about the dofollow, nofollow problem...hmmm

Iam not using it to get other sites high pr anyways, its just i want to make some profit since i cant use adsense and people rarly buy a link with nofollow.
