I just added Adsense to my SEO blog just a few minutes ago. I am going to start blogging again as forums do not convert well and I enjoy writing about SEO and Microsoft hehe. Hopefully it works like I want it to.
I know a blog that makes plenty of cash, which used to be a personal blog. www.ioerror.us now makes plenty of cash because it is a 'niche' blog. highly recommended and it has good content.
my ego has increased? themed personal blog....probably that'll rake in more than "what-i-did-with-my-cat-this-morning-" types.
Thanks... I dont want to commercialize it... I sold links for charity and that was very limited at that.
Depending on what you mean by personal, some "personal" blogs can do very well. I have a friend who writes in his personal blog about new music, movies and TV shows and he does fairly well (I saw his most recent revenue print out and it was well over $20 per day) -- considering that he spends 2-3 hours a day posting to it. All my blogs are personal OpEd blogs and they're gaining popularity, but primarily with the geek community -- geeks are the least likely to click ads, and many of them use AdBlock so they don't even see them. I don't blog for money directly, I gain opportunities with my readers that builds my credibility in my real life employment. The AdSense money is just a nice "tip" at the end of the day. If you're blogging FOR money, go get a job with a professional blogging company that pays per word, you'll do far better.
agreed. ii guess i just am happy with the "tip at the end of the day". after all it won't be personal anymore since all you will be doing is to target commercial keywords.
