    No Automated Querying
    You may not send automated queries of any sort to Google's system without express permission in advance from Google. Note that "sending automated queries" includes, among other things:

    using any software which sends queries to Google to determine how a website or webpage "ranks" on Google for various queries;
    "meta-searching" Google; and
    performing "offline" searches on Google.

    Please do not write to Google to request permission to "meta-search" Google for a research project, as such requests will not be granted.

    I am just curious about this and its wording. I know many directory scripts show the pagerank of its links.

    Thanks!

    Google API does not provide any information on PageRank.

    Current third party PageRank calculation is done by reverse engineering.

    They're violating the TOS.

    Scrapers do it too but it seems Google doesn't really care other than saying 'don't do that'.

    Who said requesting a google meta search would be declined? I do have a meta searching engine, and requested to have unlimited search queries on google. The only reason for my request to get denied is that my meta searching engine was not that popular yet.

    Atferall, this request is pretty much the same as asking for a partnership with google!

    I am pretty sure its some kind of Google API.
    That part of Googles T&C was to try and stop software like Webposition Gold, which must send millions of automated searches to google every day.

    It isn't in the Google API, which is a funny thing. And it does look like those tools are breaking the Google TOS.
