Hey DP'ers! I'll be honest with you, I am a multimedia moron. I suck at creating .gifs. I’m an idiot with Paint Shop Pro. So how can an idiot have a successful video on youtube.com? Here is my step-by-step idiot’s guide: 1. I stuggled to create about 8 promotional .gifs. Actually, I already had a few of them that I was using here and there. 2. I zipped the gifs and emailed them to my daughter. She’s pretty good with Windows Movie Maker (WMM). She syncronized some music and inserted the transitions so that my crappy gifs look presentable. 3. I uploaded the video to youtube. 4. THEN, like the idiot that I am, I tried to figure out how to get my video to rank on youtube. Is it views? Is it comments? Ratings? Friends? WTF? 5. The answer came after weeks of frustrated failures. Youtube is owned by Google, so just get links as normal and the video will rank on both Google and Youtube! That’s your idiot’s guide.
