It's not 100% accurate though there are certain way you can do to have optimal results and generate as much accuracy as you can. For instance the url link, there are several ways to change or search for the pageviews of the link as accurately as possible.
Maybe it depends on the tools that you are using. But as for google analytics itself, I can say that though it is not a 100% accurate but still so useful in monitoring our web traffics.
Tools like Google Analytics are not supposed to be 100% accurate, they can't be considering so many variables that are not in its control - Disabled JavaScript is an example. These tools are for gathering information, analyzing trends and statistically solving website questions
i think so that analytical is not so accurate because sometime from the same ip address websites opened several time that is not cached by the analytic so be aware and play safe hope you will be satisfied with this answer.
does everyone put the analytics code on every page, or just the main page. I guess for granularity, every page would be interesting. curious to what everyone else is doing.
We should put analytics code in all pages because it will track all activities of visitors like their complete path and navigation.
I must admit that every time I check GA I am amazed the the web continues to function at all. All these stats being taken must impose a load on the system somehow.
Google analytics is good for ecommerce websites and if you are looking for only traffic stats of a website then statcounter is capable to solve your purpose, and,I think if you need 100% accuracy then Awstats provide you and logs of your website which you can check in control panel of the site.
i think its good if your are running adsense on your website as it will help u know that how google is analyzing your website content , traffic, clicks, and much more
I believe 100% accurate result. But it cant provide at a time, it take 2 to 4 hours to update in analytic.
It is not even close to accurate. I have real time monitoring on my site and I see the keywords people are using to search with. GA and my stats have never matched up on a daily basis. GA is a good overview of what is going on and excellent for drilling down on conversions, but 100% no way. As far as people disabling JavaScript, very few people do this. So few do it that there is not much point into taking it into consideration. Unless you are targeting tech nerd kids that like to play around with these things or super paranoid people that would not make an online purchase anyway..
I don't think about, b'coz it's a programm, and programme is not 100% accurate, GA using javascirpt, but we assume that visiters (which is given by google analytics) comes our site.
Obvious I know but just remember that you have to have the google analytics code on every page, incuding custom error pages and all admin pages. Your host webstats will record all these pages so if you don't have the analytics code on every page naturally their will be a difference. Also if your using php code or simillar and have an 'exit' or 'die' statment which stopps the full loading of the page and the google analytics code is at the bottom of the page or under the php die statment it won't record the view or hit while your hosting stats will. Their are a few more obvious thing's like this which make some people think it's not accurate for their site.
Nobody is perfect. Consider that all programs are written by humans. Why you think Google will be 100% right.
All analytics packages have different ways of measuring clicks. Two of the more common issues that lead to discrepancies in "click" totals are a) web pages that do not fully load when clicked by a visitor and b) Java based tracking analytics, like Google Analytics. If a surfer is redirected to an advertiser's site and the page does not fully load, a click may register in your ppc account. It may not, however, be tallied by your analytics package. Advertisers who use Java based conversion tracking analytics may experience different "click" totals than what is reported in their stats. The accuracy of the data provided by a Java-based tracking program can be affected by the settings of the visitors to their website. Visitors who have Java disabled on their computer will not register as a "click" in java based analytics.
