I've been doing a lot of research on keywords with low competition but I'm not sure what "low competition" really means. How many times are keywords listed in google to be considered low medium or high competition and also how accurate is the google keyword tool? If I choose to target a low competition keyword and optimize it correctly, can I achieve google page 1 status more easily? Thank you
Yes you are right.. If you choose a low competition keyword then the chances of you shown on top are very high.. Google Keyword tool is fairly accurate. You cant question the accuracy of google keyword tool. Market Samurai (which is paid keyword tool) uses google keyword tool to analyse data. Google keyword tool if combined with google suggest and Google Wonder Wheel can give pretty decent results for you..
You're right on the less competitive words is easier to move, but you need more words: about 50 will be enough . I would advise you semrush for selection of similar keywords, and also there you can peep good word, which is using by your competitor.
what i think is that googleadwordkeyword tool just gives a rough idea about it .....its not always 100% correct
Well, googleadwards and samurai most are two most usable tool for keyword research, when we're going to analysis keywords, keep your mind low competition with high search volume.
The trick is for you to search for a less competitive keyword so that the chances of your site getting visible would be high. Google keyword tool is a cool seo tool and works well.
Depends on the keyword, and the keyword competition shown in Google's tool is the advertiser competition not the amount of competing websites. The number of competing websites isn't the best way to judge the competition, use MarketSamurai or TrafficTravis. Google's keyword tool goes back 12 months to find the average monthly search count. So for example you'll see thousands of searches in the winter months when it's snowing outside for the keyword "air conditioners", or thousands of searches in the summer months for "electric heater" when it's a 100 degrees outside. But common sense and a look at insights/trends will tell you that's not happening. Plus keyword software sometimes will skew the numbers even more. It's only searchengine traffic, but don't cut the numbers to close. And BTW I hope you're using "Exact Match" when getting the search count.
I doubt that none of the tool is 100% accurate. But Google keyword tool is very much reliable and I build my all the site taking its help and still all are satisfying my earning.
You can get an idea with the tool about your competition but if you want to be more precise about the keyword do some research with other tools also like wordtracker or others. Yes you'll certainly have a better chance for ranking high for a lower competed keyword but make sure that the keyword you are targeting gets you enough visitors that you need for your business.
Googles Keyword tool is biased towards using adwords, use Google insights and more importantly Google wonder wheel for SEO for organic ranking keywords and page content, its just my opinion
The low/high competition thing just means how much competition is in the adwords it's basically how many advertisers are paying for that keyword so if it has low competition on google adwords then most likely there arent that many advertisers within that keyword
Many companies are trying to sell their tools, but I think that google is the best tool to get google's attention.
