Please tell me something about .name domain names..I want to buy one. so far these are unique..Will .name attract ppl?
.name is not the best choice. I own some really great domains in .name like Rio de janeiro or Sao Paulo.....but i am not developer to develop them. But also, i am not sure how good would that be in .name extension.
Well, I would recommend you to choose .com domains instead of .name as it is preferred and it is said that you get a benefit in search engines if you have a .com domain
.name is fine if you want to use it for your personal sites. Don't think people will attract with .name that much because most people don't even know that .name extension is exist. - Dynashox -
.com .net and .org are very memorable. Even if the visitor bounces from your site, they might remember the url and visit again. Most people don't even know .name domains exist.
.name is always for personal use .It can't achieve that good effect as .com or .biz or others in commerce or business. If you just want to build a personal blog for communication, you can consider it.For commercial use,it's not a wise choice.
You not going to get a better straight foward response then this. It's exactly how it is. If its not a .com you might as ell know you going to lose alot of people. .Net come close to it but as normal, most people think .com first. As you go down the list of extensions you already know you losing more visitors and possibly customers depending on what you wanting the site for.
.name is in the trash can along with .ws and .cc. Godaddy even dropped the extension from their site.
thanks..for your views. actually availability is the biggest prb in .com anyway i will find alternative names.
it depends on your business requirement, if you are a business man and needs to promote your name world wide then .name domain will be good but if want the domain for commercial use .com is useful. if you want domain for the some information or services .info domain will be good. for regional business like for business in india, .in domain would be preferale.
LOL, just look at the statistics. bingos.name - sold for $2,540 arts.name - $500 fashion.name - $don't remember - something sort of $3,000 - feel free to correct me on that one So, yah, just make sure that the extension makes sense together with the domain. Don't just jump into buying .names but if you have a unique idea, you have a potential to turn $10 into a couple of hundreds.
I bought a few keyword .name domains a few years ago. But have done nothing with them. Should I take the time to develop them? BABY-S.NAME DELETED-DOMAIN.NAME EXPIRED-DOMAIN.NAME
I would use it if it fits the extension perfectly. I have made a nice sale with a .name before - bracelet, but it was to a company that made bracelets with peoples name on them so it was a perfect fit for their business, and much, much cheaper than pursuing the .com option
