I have 1 blog in particular, which I fill with PLR articles (auto-synonymed for uniqueness) which brings in a few hundred per month. I have other similar ones which have varying degrees of success.

The only problem is that I actually have to spend some time adding the content, even if I don't have to write it.

On the other hand I have some Auto-blogs that automatically grab content via RSS from other sites, always obscure ones that are not likely to rank high in organic listings (page 5 or below only).

This is a win-win because I never need to spend any time working on it, except to add new sources every so often, and the obscure site owners get traffic they would not have gotten otherwise.

Both make money, it just depends on how you want to work it.

You can make a thousand blogs, but your greatest obstacle is "time." Creating content is one story. Promoting your site is another. You may have time to create pages, but do you have time to market your sites?

Use Wordpress MU. It'll act like one installation of Wordpress, but will allow you run to as many blogs as you want (with different domain names if you use the mapping plugin).

It's great for when you have to update plugins and Wordpress itself. You just do it one time :)

Try to differentiate between topics with subdomain. I guess that will be the best way. If you have a large file in a single database, it can cause error or congestion.

I would suggest you to go for one super blog. There is not only adsense that you can earn from this site. You can have tons of other opportunity to make money from it. If your ranking and SERP is good, I'm sure you can even sell the site for 5 or 6 figures.

RSS from other sites? That's not the way of adding content to your sites. The thing is you will not only get banned by google, but also acquire a court case for plagiarism. Refrain from it mate.

I do all general topics under one blog. There's nothing wrong with it at all! It would be a pain in the ass to have to try and market 15-20 separate blogs, so why not just keep it to a bare minimum which you can heavily focus on. With one given niche, there's only so many topics that you can discuss before you run out of ideas and so general topics is ideal as you can pick to discuss what you want; there's never a reason to not be posting! If your targeting the search engines, then one big blog is just fine Ronijs. Would need to work hard on PR of course.

It is much better if you can set up one super blog than tons of small blog.
To earn money, quality is the factor, not quantity
