How about .me domains? If it`s the last choice it is worh? i don`t want to use it for a blog or something like that..
yea. Thats very correct. You must use that domain like. help.me touch.me cometo.me and use ur imagination like that.
for SEO purposes .me is no good. it depends on what you are using it for. the only one we use are .com, .net, and .org
I agree that .me is not good, but for example google.me, facebook.me, call.me, tweet.me, search.me etc. And other grups are nameAndSurname.me bigest example can be bobparson.me which is really great personal blog from ceo of GoDaddy.com
Yes .me used in that format can be good. tweet.me and facebook.me are excellent examples. For seo though, don't expect to get on the first page of Google with a .me domain, unless you own Godaddy!...lol
I don´t except that, it was just an example how to use .me domain i have to mention Bob´s blog, cause i really like him...
I think given their relatively low exposure, you'll find more people suspicious of .me domains, compared to more commonplace domains like .com, .org, .net, and even .info.
if it is the last choice better try to play with words in some domain with end .com .net .org..google like them more..
Personally, I actually do kinda like .me domains. Their intended use is for personal websites about you. But look at ".co", they're clearly not used for their intended purposes most of the time. Another creative idea is to find words or phrases that end with "me". For example, Ani.me, ga.me, though you'll find these will be hard to come by. We really don't need to use profanity or sexual references in every example here though, we're not kids after all Also, most all inappropriate ".me" domain names you can think of will be unavailable for registration. (Try visiting a few of them). I believe they did it exactly for that reason, they didn't want pornographic sites slandering their name.
What would you rather choose, .me or .co? I want to register a domain which is of course taken so I have other options left such as .me, .co, .ws, .co.uk, .at...the thing is .me and .co are both country domains and what happens if they decide to close the registration to foreigners in the future, what would happen with existing domains? Why do you think .me is not good? Apart from looking different, if you would to use it for a personal project which would you rather choose .me or .co? Or maybe any other except .info, .ws, .mobi, .asia.
I would like to hear a reply regarding the .co extension. I got it for an affiliate site because I had no other choice and it cost me more than all the other extensions by $10. I had heard that .co is an up and coming extension - and as far as I know it's not a country extension. Can anyone let us know what they think about the .CO extension? Thanks!!
It is not likely because its use has been too extended now, if those countries were to close registration to foreigners in the future there would be an outcry from thousands of peple and companies, nobody would ever trust again in them and they would end up losing millions of dollars in registration fees. What you suggest is possible for a 3rd World country Govt. or a country that limits citizens free speech, but both countries, .me (Montenegro) and .co (Colombia) do not apply any kind of Internet filtering, they would have nothing to gain out of banning registration to foreigners, and they would have lots to lose. To be on the safe side, choose a ccTLD of a country that is stable, with a rational Government and which has no Internet censorship that could push them to restrict domain registration.
- Unlike the United-States wich controls .Com and it is strictly censored under the laws of the United-States, Colombia's .Co is more open and uncensored. You could create child pornography website with a .Co and have it hosted in Colombia and it wouldn't be considered illegal there. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/ef/Age_of_Consent.png
I thought .co was an extension for 'company' not Colombia. Why colombia anyway? I get my domains from namecheap.com and .co is under one of the primary extensions - it can't be Colombia because Colombia is not more popular than .ca or .uk... That just doesn't make sense. In any case, I'm going to look it up once and for all.
I found this: "Associated globally with the words “COmpany,†“COrporation†and “COmmerce†– the .CO domain opens up new opportunities in the currently saturated online environment. .CO domains are easy to recognize, simple to remember, and flexible to use. The .CO extension also offers the perfect platform for a new generation of socially-networked individuals and businesses to COmmunicate and COllaborate online." The whole thing confuses me...
.CO/.TV/.ME are the only TLDs that are hybrid. In other words, yes they are country codes but they are also generic and search engines treats them like a .COM/.NET/.ORG All 2 characters TLDs are ccTLDs. All 3 characters and more are gTLDs. .CO/.TV/.ME are special TLDs... meaning that you can use them as generics on your google webmaster. You cannot get any shorter than .CO/.TV/.ME if you want to be global. Out of all the 200 countries codes only 3 on them where lucky to become global. Future TLDs are destined to 3 or more characters long.
