Anyone here using Joomla 1.5. How's the experience?

Did you migrate from 1.13? Or is it a fresh installation?

So far not good. My agency recently tried to upgrade a client site. The site has many joomla plugins and they are not all compatible. Some have beta versions of plugins but they are still buggy. Check all your plugins first before leaping in.

We had a problem with sh404SEF, so switched to 1.3

I find it great but I am not using it yet. It is too new, a lot of plugins have still not caught up with it. For such open source CMS that depends a lot on independent programmers to write the plugins, there would be a period whereby the gap between the release of the new version and the updating of the plugins exist. I would prefer to wait for a longer period to ensure the plugins I needed are all compatible.

I have tried a couple install with 1.5 and I have to say I am not that impressed.

I find it awkward to navigate thru the admin, and really I don't see what they have done that is so different or better.

If the major issue was security then please, why change the layout and functionality so much.

I have to say it will be a long time before I change from the original if at all.

My pennies worth for what it's worth, still Joomla rocks

    Cap :)

Only upgrade joomla 1.0.14 and plan to 1.0.15 soon, because most the extensions I used still not available in 1.5.

    I'm holding off on 1.5.

There's too much at stake to rush into the upgrade.

Joomla 1.5 is not stable. Use joomla 1.0.15.

I prefer for the moment joomla 1.014, only few extensions are compatible with 1.5 version.
