    Dear Webmasters and Netizens,

DMOZ is most undoubtedly THE most coveted directory projects that ever existed. However, don't you guys think that DMOZ needs a better design? Its category structure is excellent and it is "different" that any other existing web directories {including LinKernel Web Directory which I own ;)}...I personally think that DMOZ should go for a facelift...and I would like to hear what you guys think about it. Be honest;)

Are you making this up? It owned by AOL, NOT Google! Have you not noticed this at the bottom of the DMOZ home page:
Who owns Netscape? .... AOL does.

DMOZ is supposedly in process of upgrading to a better way of doing things (DMOZ 2.0) No real clue what's in store for it, but it's bound to happen...

You can see references to DMOZ 2.0 on their blog entry about the staff Meet AOL's DMOZ Staff Team]

And Agent000 is correct, it's NOT owned by Google.

There will be a new version sometime, but could be like waiting for a suggested site to get reviewed;)
It is very much is owned by AOL and AOL staff input to the project.
Some web directories 'borrow' our structure. Best of the Web is very close and updated by some DMOZ editors and ex-DMOZ editors.
