I have been surfing the buy and Sell , Content etc forums here on DP for the last 1 week , and almost every hour . day there are posts where people ask for payment for offloading some stuff they have collected on the net . Many of these items includes , copyrighted Fonts , Logos, Icons , Games, and what not . Only just now i saw 2 guys trying to sell 900 copyrighted php scripts , 650 Arcade Flash Games . When asked , many of them just go ahead and say , they payment is for their internet connectivity they have used . Which is pure bullshit . now i know it is not possile for the mods in their limited time to go through all these and ban the offending members /warn them . but at least there should be a Sticky that clearly defines the Do's and Dont's ... maybe i will try tp right up somethig , but i am not much of a senior member here , so i am not sure what really are the bylaws of DP . Furthermore , Why not use the same system which we have here in Feedback here , where it asks if we are sure this post should be in Feedback ... give a warning to the thread opener , before he starts trying to hoodwink people who dont know / understand what they can buy and what they cant ?

Master Resell Rights On the other hand, when you acquire master resell rights, not only you can sell it to your customers, but your customers also have the rights to sell it and pass on the resell rights. This is pretty important when you are making a sale, because you are putting both yourself and your reseller into danger . As a seller , you should be aware wether you can ONLY SELL to your Customer / Reseller or Transfer Resell Rights to them to . As a seller , you should also be prepared to show proof that you CAN TRANSFER resell rights . As a BUYER , you should verify before paying , wether the person you are buying from has the option to provide you with the above. Many often , a fantastic offer of $10-12 makes us forget all this , but it might land us in trouble or if not at least harassment , in trying to prove that you had acted without wrongful intent . What does Royalty free mean ? A: Royalty-free describes material (typically graphics such as stock photography and icons, but also sound such as music loop samples) that may be used for profit, without paying royalties. Royalty-free media is usually acquired for a 'one time only' fee, although public domain imagery and many works created under a copyleft license are also usable without paying royalties or an initial fee. What does Rights Managed mean ? A: Rights Managed is often used to describe photographs for which the right to reproduce them are managed, and thus the individual, organization, or business wishing to use the photograph must first obtain a license for the use of that image specific to the type of use. What does Public Domain mean ? A: Public domain comprises the body of knowledge and innovation (especially creative works such as writing, art, music, and inventions) in relation to which no person or other legal entity can establish or maintain proprietary interests within a particular legal jurisdiction. A creative work is said to be in the public domain if there are no laws which restrict its use by the public at large. For instance, a work may be in the public domain if no laws establish proprietary rights over the work, or if the work or its subject matter are specifically excluded from existing laws. I have seen several DP members sell or try to sell items which they claim they have collected over the years or months , strenously . it does not matter how strenously or how many internet hours you have spent , or how much you have searched to find a flash arcade game file, a collection of angelina jolie pics , or 200 sound loops or 1100 stock icons . Several flash arcade game files often come with shareware / linkware license which means you may share it when you give a link back to the original gamemaker , OR commercial license which means you PAY for what you use . I doubt any of them comes with a license that allows you to Distribute it as a single file or in a bundle when you are even making $1 or $100 out of it. There are 100's of linkware Icons website, which allows us to EVEN download and use them in out commercial websites or applications , but in most times they ask you to NOT distribute it seperately but point everyone to the official download site or give a link / credit inside your applcation .
