SilverCheater (my free hosting company) has just launched today.

This hosting service comes with a google banner ad which floats on the top right hand corner.

I was wondering, is this okay with google?

    thanks

PS. tell me if you need to see an example.

    ...that's not what I meant.

The google ad moves down as you scroll is what I meant.

Because you are drawing undue attention to the ad and without saying it in words you are still asking them to click the ad by making it stay in front of them the whole time.

Also if you are doing this then I am assuming you are making the ads popup in a new window and if so that is also a violation of their TOS.

Do they open in that same window that the person visits or do they open in a new window?

i wonder if you could have the ad appear in a layer, that would appear when a user clicks view ads?

depends on what your goal is. if your goal is to get a warning from G, possibly a kick, then by all means go ahead.

    it's against the terms. :)

google is indeed a fickle creature, better to err on the side of caution.
It probably IS against their TOS, but if you ask me, adsense has to many rules anyway. Well that's why there is competition...YPN?

Not only is it not OK in the spirit of AdSense TOS, in my humble opinion, it will really irritate your visitor as well.
