Hover higflight the Firefox sidebar

    Why don't the below codes make effect of highlighting when you hover the bookmarks or history in the Firefox sidebar?

    #bookmarks-view tree, #historyTree:hover{
    -moz-appearance: none !important;
    background-color: black !important;
    }

    I hope somebody will help me with the right code.
