I had an idea of a site for house blueprints.. The site would have blueprints of custom homes, but instead of only having professional blueprints, but also would allow people to submit their own blueprints and they would be sold on the site and the price if was sold for would go to 50% the designer 50% to me (just an example) do you think this site would go over well? because AutoCAD and house blueprints are my passion and I always wanted to open a site for blueprints, but offer something that other blueprint companys don't. Any advice would be smashing, thanks in advance EDIT: I know there is quite a bit of competition and strong companys already established so is it even worth trying to compete with them?
If you're able to get enough blueprints to your website why not trying? I don't know how much competition there is but it sounds like a good idea at this point.
Yes it worth for try coz the competition on this niche is relative small if compare to other niche. But your site must have a lot of blue print first before you promote your site. The most important thing is you must ensure that the commission you take is less than industry standard coz it can greatly help you to compete with establish site.
