Obviously it's the liberals that have their minds set on torture, since they keep insisting that it's what our government wants to do. Republican congressmen have not directly supported TORTURE as a form of interrogation, but the liberals like to think so.

This is indeed a step forward in the war against terrorism. (Sorry yo-yo/AGS :)) Hurray for the good guys!

Yep, and a bad day for democrats who were worried about the sensitivities and rights of the worst of the worst scum that want to harm our country.

This vote will haunt democrats in the upcoming elections and simply proves they do not have the mind set to take on the fight of terrorism.

I believe that anyone opposing this was not worried about the rights of terrorists but instead they were worried about the rights of innocent people accused of being terrorists. There have been many detainees who have been freed from detention centers after many years simply because they were innocent.

    This is my belief:
Any innocent person should not be hurt in any way.

Side note: Why must people use words like "conservatives" and "liberals" as curse words that end up demonizing and dehumanizing other fellow human beings? Clearly, such conflict amongst citizens is bad for the health of our country.

You think they care? They don't care about anyone but themselves and their backwards views.

Because most of our country is not educated in politics. It's a monkey see monkey do world out there. I'm not sure the majority of people spouting off even know what the words "conservative" and "liberal" mean in a political setting.

As to demonizing people, that's what groups do.

We have set up some dangerous precedents since 9-11. Should we be allowed to torture people? If you say yes, then fine. Just don't whine when it happens to our guys. Will torture save lives? Maybe. Should we always act in accordance with the most extreme example? Evidently.

On this matter, I'd side with someone like John McCain, who's not only been in war, but been tortured as well. If he says the law's ok, then so be it. If not, then there's cause for concern.
