hotmail proved to me how bad they suck. i can't even check it on my black berry it requires java script!. i tried to use opera mini and it still dont work!
I also noticed the hotmail doesn't work properly with some browsers. As I see even Firefox 3 doesn't support it correctly. I think the Microsoft has optimized the hotmail only for IE versions.
It is not so good in blocking spam and most of the adult and hot sites just pass away directly to inbox sections . I will say yahoo is much better in email services than hotmail .
IE are far from w3c standard browser, MS's web application are private and don't work on every browser, thses application sometimes work on IE only . That is the fault of MS. lol
I agree. Even the browser on my N76 (S60v3 FP1) supports javascript. @Original poster: http://mobile.live.com/hm
It used to reject my password every time on my first login attempt on my laptop whether the password was correct or not. Works fine now however. It occasionally runs into that "infinite loop" thing but I found a way to get around that. (Go to msn.com and click on the hotmail icon.)
Hotmail is by far the worst email of the three i use (yahoo, google and hotmail), lots of unwanted spam and at times i can't even reply to emails
I too, i am fine with hotmail. Still the older look was lot better than a newer one. I did got some time compatibility issue in FF3 with hotmail. With older look i had the same issue with only opera only.
I think Hotmail is fine, thats maybe because my main account is on there and I've been using it longer than any of the rest. Although, whenever the design it seems to get worse. Didnt know Blackberrys don't support javascript!
I have stopped using hotmail since several years....Even since gmail appeared on the scene.....there's no looking back from it. Regards, RightMan
I disagree with a few of you. I have used hotmail as my primary email since 2002. I also have a yahoo account and gmail account. I would rate them as follows: 1) hotmail 2) yahoo 3) gmail
I don't know if they still do for sure but hotmail used to be famous for blacklisting servers. What that meant was if you had a hosting account on a shared server and just 1 site on that same server was spamming or doing something that made hotmails blacklist, then every site on the server was deemed blacklisted by hotmail. Even if you had nothing to do with it. Now others do this as well, but hotmail used to be pretty particular. Then it was a real time consuming process to get them to take a server off there list. Maybe they have fixed some of these issues now.
I think they still do this, one of my forums gets black listed by hotmail, and I have never spammed! Its not just a sinking ship, its well and truly sunk. They should do a roll back! They probably make it work on IE only for a reason (notice the show a little upgrade your browser page). They know they are loosing all their battles, and seem to be trying any tricks to win people back. Making your webmail only work with their browser will put me of off IE/hotmail/msn more than anything!
The problems I've had with hotmail lately. First I got hacked, but got it back within 24 hours by resetting the password. That was last week, now it's locked because I've supposedly tried to login too many times with the wrong password. Not me, probably the same hacker. It's been locked for 3 days now. Anybody know how long it takes to unlock. I've tried resetting the password but no joy this time.
